About The Position

At Hands of Heartland, we believe that people with developmental disabilities are people first. Hands of Heartland is expanding our in-home services and are looking for people who love to make a difference in people’s lives. We are looking for compassionate, caring, and dependable individuals to join our team and provide support to the individuals we support as a Supported Services Professional also know as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver. What You’ll Do: Work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to ensure they work towards their goals to have a meaningful life. As a DSP you will assist individuals with day to day living activities and developing skills in a home environment and in community settings. You must display a strong sense of professionalism since you will be going into other people’s homes.

Requirements

Must be 18 years old
Must be able to pass all background checks
Must have a valid driver’s license
Experience not required – we will train you!
Must have reliable transportation
Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
Flexible and willing to adapt to change
Know the value of communication
Desire to support people and encourage them to reach goals
Understand the importance of documentation

Responsibilities
