Overview The Data Integrity Supervisor oversees all employees of the Data Integrity Section and provides cross-functional support and coverage, as needed, due to staffing shortages or peak volumes. The Data Integrity Supervisor will promote a steady workflow and accomplish department objectives in strict accordance with all hospital, government and Joint Commission rules and regulations. The Data Integrity Supervisor will promote a steady workflow and achievement of department objectives, serve as a point of contact for department customers, provide expertise on clinical documentation processes and procedures, as well, the Data Integrity Supervisor maintains expert knowledge of and open communication with transcrtpion services. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 1-2 years experience
  • Supervise staff, coordinate schedules and workflow, write policy and procedures, assess performance or health care related vendor jobs.
  • 1-2 years experience with HIM department.

  • Notary Public Preferred
  • Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Specialist or Certified Coding Specialist or test eligible preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assesses HIM operations and adjusts staffing to ensure goals are met appropriately. The Data Integrity Supervisor communicates updates and issues, plus, possible solutions to the management team. Implements solutions with the designated department employees.
  • Revises work assignments as necessary and prioritizes work appropriately.
  • Supervises assigned staff members, including counseling, coaching, and administers performance appraisals for employees.
  • Coordinates department training activities, including new systems, procedures and employee orientation. The Data Integrity Supervisor coordinates orientation, training and coaching of new staff, including administration of staff competency tests, as well, conducts monthly staff/section meetings to ensure productive consistent communication and training throughout the section.
  • Supports performing team member duties during periods of high workload and absenteeism, and provides weekend, evening and night on-call coverage as needed to support assigned operations.
