Position Summary The main responsibility of this position is to operate secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) instruments for analysis requests and to deliver high-quality analysis reports in a timely manner to assist with process qualifications, Fab tool qualifications, and improvements in mass production yield. The role involves close collaboration with Fab Engineering and Process Integration teams to understand customer analysis requirements and provide root cause analysis along with data interpretation. It also includes the development of continuous improvements in analysis techniques to address the needs of customers using advanced technologies.

Requirements

  • B. S. to PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or closely related discipline.
  • 3 years SIMS analysis tool hands-on experience.
  • Expertise in MS-SIMS and/or TOF-SIMS instrument daily operation and data analysis required.
  • Understanding or expertise in other surface analysis techniques.
  • Experience in technical leadership.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processes and device physics, solid background on materials physics and chemistry.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving ability.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, statistics software.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous analytical lab experience preferred.
  • Proven analysis accomplishments by recent publications.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily SIMS instrument operation, analysis data acquisition, and providing timely, high quality analytical reports for fab process and tool qualification and for investigating process issues
  • Aid in root cause analysis and provide analysis solution logistics via dynamic and static SIMS.
  • Able to recognize analysis improvement opportunities and lead projects in terms of quality, improving efficiency and adding new capabilities.
