About The Position

Are You the Safety-First Leader Our Finishing Line Needs? Picture this: second shift is ramping up in Ripon, WI. You take the handoff, walk the line, and confirm PPE and ergonomic setups. Your team understands the plan because you’ve set clear goals tied to operating metrics. Issues pop up—you partner with technical staff, remove roadblocks, and keep production moving while upholding uncompromising safety and quality. Role Snapshot Location: Ripon, WI Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 pm to 1:00 am Overtime: Occasional Fridays, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm Your Impact Lead a finishing area/zone as the first-line supervisor in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Establish and enforce OSHA/EPA-compliant procedures; stay current with evolving regulations. Ensure availability and proper use of PPE (bump caps, gloves, eye protection). Embed ergonomic practices: adjustable workstations, proper seating, and regular breaks. Build a respectful, servant-led culture where every team member contributes ideas for continuous improvement. Oversee training delivered by Team Leaders/designated trainers in safety, quality, equipment operation, and 6S. Set annual goals aligned to operating metrics; manage to plan and adjust as needed. Drive process improvements to reduce inventories and work-in-progress. Serve as first point of contact for employee relations; collaborate with Union Stewards on contract and discipline issues. Other duties as assigned. What It Takes Servant leadership mindset with a strong example-setting approach to safety. Preferred: 1–3 years in high-volume manufacturing and prior supervision experience. Preferred education: Bachelor’s in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations. Relevant professional, internship, or co-op experience considered. Skills You Use Daily Safety leadership: encourage reporting without retaliation, conduct audits, and promptly correct non-compliance. Coaching, mentoring, and holding teams accountable to standards. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Structured problem solving; promote proactive, solutions-oriented thinking. Preferred familiarity with process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban, and Lean.
