About The Position

Surgery Center Clinical Manager oversees the daily clinical operations of the facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality patient care while meeting safety, environmental (OSHA, EPA, CDC), and accreditation standards (State, Federal, Local, and Accreditation). Responsible for hiring, scheduling, budgeting, implementing clinical policies, and collaborating with medical staff to improve patient outcomes.  The primary goal of the clinical manager is to improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare services across facilities.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited post-secondary training program in nursing required. BSN required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in peri-operative nursing required.
  • Minimum 5 years of management/supervisory experience required.
  • Strong leadership, analytical reasoning, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for coordinating between healthcare teams.

  • Ambulatory Surgery Center experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the bridge between medical staff, administration, and patients to ensure that the healthcare facility runs efficiently.
  • Supports the Surgery Center Board and Administrator in the daily clinical operation of the facilities.
  • Manage daily clinical activities, including workflow efficiencies, scheduling, and resources. This includes maintaining appropriate staffing metrics, supplies, and equipment for best practice across both locations.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating healthcare staff. Participate in employee relations, which may result in a performance improvement plan and/or termination.
  • Monitors performance/attendance and communications with staff to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all supervised positions.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance, fostering a collaborative environment for seamless communication with the clinical teams.
  • Oversee patient care quality, handling initial complaints, and implementing initiatives for better outcomes.
  • Ensure facility and staff adhere to all state, federal, local, and accreditation standards.
  • Assess staff needs according to workload and staff competency. Adjust staffing based on patient care needs.
  • Gives assistance and provide direction to staff to facilitate high-quality patient care and efficient patient flow.
  • Assists with QI, infection control, and OSHA programs as requested by management.
  • Responsible for procurement/evaluation of equipment, supplies, and drugs for the facilities.
  • Plans and budgets for the needs of the clinical areas.
  • Assumes charge of facilities when the Administrator is unavailable.
  • Ability to work in a system characterized by stress, intensity, and a demand for a high level of performance with varied work hours.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others. Provide ongoing and effective communication with physicians, staff, vendor representatives, peers, and leadership.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
