About The Position

Citizens Health is looking for a scrub tech to work full-time in the surgery department Citizens Medical Center. Scrub techs will report to the Surgery Manager. Days/Hours: 8am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday Pay Range: Dependent upon experience. What you’ll do: Obtain supplies needed for day’s surgeries and prepare operating rooms as assigned. Create and maintain sterile fields; scrub and assist with surgical procedure by passing instruments and specific equipment; take counts according to standard policy. Take surgery call which is assigned on a rotating basis and is mandatory. Assist in cleaning instruments/equipment, checking and stocking supplies. Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Certification from an accredited school of surgical technology, preferred. High school graduate or GED accepted when on-the-job training is to be utilized. Successful completion of Citizens Medical Center’s nursing orientation program specific to that unit prior to responsibility for patient care.
  • Good knowledge of sterile technique and thorough knowledge of principles, methods and technique involved in performing general surgery and suctioning at constant efficiency, or on-the-job training provided.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationship with personnel in other departments.
  • Ability to provide direction in application of nursing process, quality improvement standard, organization and departmental goals and objectives, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Possess interpersonal skills needed to function in a ‘team’ setting.
  • Be a self-starter who takes initiative, is open minded and a team player.
