About The Position

Rothman Orthopaedics is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse OR Athletic Trainer to work as a Surgical Clinical Assistant to support one of our Hip & Knee Surgeons based in our Limerick, PA office! This position will require travel to our offices in Bryn Mawr and Malvern, PA and will allow for one remote day per week! The Surgical Clinical Assistant provides professional care to patients under the supervision of their assigned attending physician. If you are qualified for and interested in this role, please apply. Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM Pay Ranges: Athletic Trainer - $48,000 to $70,000 annually Licensed Practical Nurse - $24 to $34 per hour

Requirements

  • Must have active, valid Athletic Trainer OR Licensed Practical Nurse credentials
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EMR system(s) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room.
  • Directs patient to surgery scheduling and/or front desk for checkout.
  • Maintains order, cleanliness, and inventory in the exam room, and prepares exam room for patients to enter.
  • Cleans and autoclaves instruments.
  • Provides and scans proper paperwork to the chart for Physician's review.
  • Records vitals as per Physician's request.
  • Prepares injections for the Physician.
  • Pulls up x-rays, MRI's, CT's, and various studies pertaining to the patient's exam.
  • Assists patient with clothing when necessary.
  • Disposes of bio hazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation, and replaces sharps containers when existing containers are full.
  • Answers telephones in patient areas and provides voicemail coverage for Physician.
  • Requests reports for various facilities for Physicians.
  • Empties and restocks laundry.
  • Scans appointment tracking to identify when patients are ready to be seen by the Physician and directs Physician in patient appointment order.
  • Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative reports, dictations, and studies are present in the chart.
  • Completes pre-certifications for MRI's and other Physician orders as necessary.
  • Send Visco Injection authorization request to supplement pre-certification representative.
  • Scans information into patient record (including all Physician orders, prescriptions, etc. on the date of service).
  • Covers other areas in the office when not assigned to a Physician.
  • Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
