Operating room nurses are trained to circulate and scrub in a variety of surgical cases. Our various surgical specialties perform more than 43,000 procedures annually and include top tier talent. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is certified as a Level I trauma center and stroke center and offers high-quality specialty emergency and trauma services. Northwestern Memorial Hospital has 60+ operating rooms. Northwestern Medicine’s River North Surgery Center (RNSC) is a free-standing ambulatory surgery site located in close proximity to the main campus, specializing in the following specialties, but not limited to: Ear, Nose, and Throat Orthopedics Ophthalmology Pain Plastics River North Surgery Center consists of 4 operating rooms focused on outpatient procedures. Professional growth opportunities and in-services are provided through NMH; Surgical Services in-services at RNSC and the main campus (NMH). The Surgical Services Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The role of the professional clinical nurse is unique and essential to the care of the patient. The nurse demonstrates that unique and essential function through the framework for nursing practice.
