Education High School Graduate or Equivalent, Health-related education, experience, or certification Experience / Qualifications American Heart Association BLS for Health Care providers. 1-year Operating Room experience preferred Position Summary As a surgical support technician, you assist in facilitating patient care by working concurrently with the OR staff, anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other hospital personnel. Surgical Suite cleaning and troubleshooting Restocking of operating rooms and terminals Patient positioning during surgery Assisting with the preparation and transportation of patients Before beginning cases, acquiring surgical equipment according to the surgeon's preference and the case's requirements Assisting with the setup of operating room equipment Assisting anesthesia providers during patient procedures Patient transfer and movement Communicates effectively with all levels of clinical staff (surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and ancillary staff) Prepares and plans for post-surgical patient transport in a safe manner. Communicates and responds effectively and promptly. Surgical gas transport and setup (nitrogen, oxygen, CO2, etc.) in a safe manner. Understanding of surgical procedures and processes, along with the types of equipment used for each procedure, according to the surgeon's preferences. In addition to the above, performs other duties as required. Physical Requirements This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent, Health-related education, experience, or certification
