About The Position

A surgical technologist prepares and maintains the sterile field, assists surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs, and helps ensure safe, efficient surgical operations.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of:• Surgical Technology training program
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification
• Four(4) year surgical tech experience. (CST and two (2) years of surgical tech experience may substitute for the required experience).

Responsibilities

• Maintains a sterile, organized surgical field and efficiently passes instruments and supplies
• Anticipates and prioritizes needs throughout each stage of surgical procedures
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts per protocol
• Ensures proper handling, labeling, and preservation of surgical specimens for pathology
• Assists with ordering and stocking specialty supplies per department guidelines
• Provides scrub services across at least two surgical specialties with high physician satisfaction
• Trains and precepts perioperative staff and supports specialty-related education
• Collaborates with surgeons and leadership to improve workflow, support procedures, and ensure compliance with policies
