Opportunity Overview We have an immediate opening for an OR Surgical Tech to join our team at RMA of New York in both Eastside, New York and Brooklyn, New York . Schedule: Part-time hours 20 to 28 hours a week; Monday through Friday; Schedules vary depending on the day (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time); Weekend and Holiday rotation. Compensation: $20 to $25 per hour (commensurate with experience) This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • A Surgical Technician Certification is preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification is allowed
  • National Operating Room Technician Certification (CORT) is preferred
  • At least one year experience in acute care operating room or assisting in procedures as a Surgical Tech is required
  • Open to non-certified medical professionals
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Smart, outgoing, organized and enjoy working with people
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills are required
  • A current BLS/ACLS Certification is optional

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual language skills are a plus; interest in the field of reproductive medicine is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintaining a sterile field with the required instruments and supplies to complete a designated surgical procedure efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Prepare, setup, and scrub for routine and urgent surgical procedures and prepare patients for surgery
  • Observe vital signs
  • Other related functions on an as needed basis
  • Proper maintenance of the procedure rooms and ordering of supplies
