About The Position

The Surgery Center of Charleston , a division of Charleston ENT & Allergy, is seeking a full-time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team. The Surgery Center of Charleston is an independent, accredited outpatient surgery center that provides high-quality surgical services and comprehensive pre- and post-operative care. Our surgical services include a variety of ENT and cosmetic procedures. Certified Surgical Technologists play a critical role in supporting the surgical team and ensuring that procedures run efficiently and safely in the operating room. Requirements

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
Minimum of two years of operating room experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

Preparing operating rooms with the appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment according to surgeons’ preference cards
Inspecting instruments and equipment to ensure proper working condition
Maintaining sterile technique and adhering to all operating room policies and procedures
Opening sterile supplies and arranging instruments for each procedure
Anticipating the needs of the surgeon during procedures and maintaining the availability of instruments and supplies
Identifying and reporting breaks in sterile technique and taking appropriate action according to policy
Cleaning, caring for, and sterilizing instruments and equipment as directed
Assisting with stocking and maintaining operating room supplies
Maintaining and updating instrument and surgeon preference cards as needed
Documenting patient care information in accordance with facility policies and procedures
Communicating effectively with the surgical team to support patient care throughout the procedure
