About The Position

The Surgical Technologist 1 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic
patient care concepts. Demonstrates basic surgical case preparation skills.
Demonstrates responsible behavior as a health care professional.
Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of the first scrub on all basic
surgical cases. Demonstrates the application of the principles of asepsis.
Demonstrates the application of the principles of aseptic technique
Identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in
patient needs.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist at time of hire
• Basic Life Support form AHA required upon start.

• Recent Hospital experience and/or previous practice experience
