About The Position

Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a driven and detail-oriented CADD Operator to join our fast-paced Survey/Geospatial team in Norfolk, VA. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our survey and mapping projects, turning field data into accurate, high-quality technical drawings and plans with the power of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software. You’ll collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to deliver precise results that shape land development, infrastructure, and geospatial projects across the region. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD.
  • 2-5 years of related experience. (Previous survey experience a plus).
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D. (MicroStation a plus).
  • Work within a team oriented environment to successfully complete a high volume of projects within established budgets and deadlines.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous survey experience a plus.
  • MicroStation a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to draft parcels, or subdivision boundaries from legal descriptions using CAD techniques (Civil 3D).
  • Maintains average skills in the use of AutoCAD (MicroStation a plus).
  • Ability and knowledge to perform Topographic survey, ALTA survey, Boundary Survey, As built Survey etc.
  • Ability to read and plot Legal descriptions.
  • Performs drafting of portions of routine projects under direction of project surveyor.
  • Understands surveying terminology.
  • Prepares a variety of survey products.
  • Adheres to AutoCAD standards manual.
