About The Position

(CEC), in our Pittsburgh, PA office, you will perform survey work relating to topography, boundary, and construction staking. You will lead one- two- or three-man survey crews under the direction of Registered Professional Surveyors. Imagine being at the forefront of diverse projects, where your expertise in topographic, boundary surveys and construction stakeouts lays the groundwork for groundbreaking developments. You won't just be performing tasks; you'll be an integral part of a survey field crew, bringing plans to life with your keen eye and precision! This isn't your average desk job. You'll be out in the field, harnessing the power of modern survey equipment and applying cutting-edge surveying principles and practices. Additionally, you will perform minor computations as required. The position will require travel with overnight stays. Requirements

  • 8+ years of survey crew chief experience
  • SIT is preferred, but not required
  • Skilled in the use of GPS devices, survey and drafting technologies, data collectors, and robotic total stations
  • Work requires independent judgment and initiative
  • Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and programs used in computer aided drafting
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment
  • Ability to work long hours outdoors under various field conditions and exposure to traffic, heat, cold, and other adverse conditions
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Trimble & Topcon GPS and Trimble Total Stations; Trimble and Topcon Data collectors; and Trimble Access software
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatic Engineering, or other related field preferred
  • Experience working to prepare ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Topographic and Utility Surveys, experience with Abandoned Mine Land projects, Natural Gas Pipeline projects, and Transportation projects
  • Experience with Pipeline As-Built Surveys including pipe tally reports and weld location
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D Software
