About The Position

Generally responsible for performing field surveys and preparing drawings to be used for the design and construction of industrial facilities as well as construction staking in the industrial environment. This work will be performed under the supervision of a professional land surveyor. Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Completing project safely and within required accuracy and timeframe. Coordinating with survey team and design team to ensure survey scope is clear and deliverable expectations are met. Coordinating findings with the work of engineering teammates, clients, and others involved in projects. Calculating heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain and industrial facilities. Adhering to existing standards of practice for surveying. Conducting surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles. Establishing construction control points for use in the installation of equipment and materials. Preparing sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys. Recording the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features. Searching legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed. Verifying the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites. Requirements

Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting, Surveying \ Geomatics or related field is required.
This position requires 3 or more years of relevant experience in land surveying and computer aided drafting.
Familiarity with standards and codes.
Proficient in the use of field instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and laser scanners.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Carlson Software or equivalent.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs.
Ability to use the entire body, more often hands and arms, in handling, positioning, and moving equipment.
Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Cyclone laser scanning software or equivalent a plus.
