As a member of the Low Speed Wind Tunnel (LSWT) team within the Lockheed Martin Flight Sciences group in Marietta, GA, the selected candidate will provide electrical and instrumentation engineering support to our large scale, low speed wind tunnel facility. The candidates responsibilities will involve instrumentation, as well as development, operation, and maintenance of wind tunnel electro-mechanical systems. Other tasks may include support of wind tunnel test article installation, operation of wind tunnel data acquisition systems, and repair and maintenance activities. This is an application engineering position and requires hands-on troubleshooting experience. The selected candidate must be a self-starter and willing to accommodate varying tasks within the department and assist other lab groups on an as needed basis. The candidate must have good communication and interpersonal skills, engage as a team player and be willing to participate in building strong working and teaming relationships. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Engineering Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace)
  • Knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW and Data Acquisition Systems (DAS)
  • Hands-on experience with electronics in a laboratory environment
  • Experience troubleshooting laboratory systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other equipment
  • Ability to create and interpret wiring schematics
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • This position requires a government security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience designing electrical circuits with analog and digital components
  • Experience operating and maintaining data acquisition systems
  • Knowledge of various programming languages (NI LabVIEW, MATLAB, FORTRAN desired) to maintain and develop new capabilities
  • Experience with 3D Solid Modeling CAD software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks desired)
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Willing and able to support extended and off shift work schedules
  • Experience working safely in hazardous laboratory environments
  • Ability to effectively document and accurately convey technical data
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interface with multifunctional teams
