Meaningful Work and Personal Impact As a System/SW Integration Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will directly affect multiple Force Protection System (FPS) Family of Systems (FOS) for the IBD-SS program supporting the Warfighter. The System/SW Integration Engineer who joins our team will play an integral role in integrating software and systems and ensure they meet performance, functionality, and user needs. You will collaborate within and across cross-functional teams to update, design, develop, and deploy full system solutions while troubleshooting and resolving complex technical challenges. This role requires systems thinking and understanding that software integration ensures seamless integration across the entire system lifecycle. How the Systems/ Software Integration Engineer will make an impact: Create and maintain robust processes for tracking software versions, changes, and releases to ensure traceability, compliance, and stability across environments. Manage software changes, including Software Release Packages (SPP) and developing deliverables such as Software Integration Plans, Software Version Descriptions, and sustainment packages (SW TDP) for release and lifecycle management of systems such as JACCS. Implements version management processes as part of a holistic integration strategy, maintaining Software Integration Plans and Version Descriptions, to reflect g traceability for changes. Support Test/Fix/Test processes, including developing and maintaining issue trackers, integration plans, and supporting defect fixes to ensure full system readiness. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in documentation or processes Implement and maintain processes for software development, integration, testing, deployment, sustainment, and retirement phases. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement integration of tools like Jira and repositories, into software change management workflows Develop and execute integration, validation, and verification plans. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in system integration and software engineering. Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and end-users, understanding how their wants and needs fit into the big picture and being comfortable working with engineering, cybersecurity, and program management. Create and maintain thorough documentation for integration processes, including system design specifications, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures Provide technical support and troubleshooting during and after deployment to address any integration-related concerns Ensure all IT engineering projects and initiatives adhere to established organizational policies, procedures, and objectives. Requirements

  • BS/BA with 10 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. (14 years without BS/BA)
  • Security clearance level: Secret Clearance
  • On Customer Site
  • Travel Requirement CONUS/OCONUS determined by mission requirements
  • Certification: DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 IAT-II baseline (e.g., Security+ CE) Certification required day one or willing to obtain within three months of start date
  • Certification Requirement subject to change determined by contractual requirements
  • Technical skills: Expertise in managing Software Product Packages (SPP), including versioning, building, and release of authorized software with awareness of system dependencies, ensuring versioning and releases support overall system interoperability and mission readiness
  • Proficiency in supporting Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes with a focus on cross-functional alignment to ensure that software changes are evaluated for their effect on system architecture and operational performance.
  • Experience in creating and managing software sustainment packages that you have created (e.g., Software Baseline Package), ensuring proper lifecycle documentation and delivery.
  • Deep understanding of System and Software Lifecycle Processes and how they apply to your work, adhering to frameworks like: ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207 (System and Software Lifecycle Processes; ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 (System Lifecycle Processes) and ISO/IEC/IEEE 24748 (Application and Management of Lifecycle Processes)
  • Skilled in implementing ISO-aligned lifecycle processes (ISO/IEC/IEEE-12207, 15288, 24748) to ensure compliance, traceability, and quality across software/system development and delivery.
  • Extensive experience in scripting Audit Logs and automating software workflows to collect and analyze system behavior and performance data in context of the full system
  • Demonstrated ability to create HW/SW mapping systems for PBL in order to provide sustainment engineering packages that support CCB operations to manage software changes and approvals efficiently in context of full systems’ requirements.
  • Experience with DoD Systems, Engineering requirements and DoD contracts
  • Superior technical writing skills to document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Field Bulletins, Maintenance plans
