About The Position

Peraton is currently seeking a Systems Admin. - AUDS Key Responsibilities: Design and Implementation: Design, deploy, and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines across multiple sites. Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement integrated infrastructure solutions that align with command requirements. Implement and manage VMware networking components, including distributed switches and VLANs. Schedule, plan, and perform system upgrades, coordinating the transition from test to production environments. System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Monitor and optimize virtual infrastructure performance, resource utilization, and system availability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to VMware technologies, including performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems, to ensure minimal downtime. Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers for advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution. Provide technical support for system users. Security and Recovery: Implement and manage comprehensive backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtual machines and infrastructure components. Ensure the virtual environment is compliant with DoD security policies, regulations, and best practices by implementing and maintaining STIGs. Support projects aimed at enhancing the security, efficiency, or capability of the virtualized environment. Documentation and Mentorship: Develop and maintain clear, detailed documentation for virtualization architecture, configurations, and procedures. Evaluate and recommend new VMware technologies and solutions to enhance system performance and efficiency. Mentor junior administrators to enhance the team's overall expertise in virtualization technologies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. 12 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Security+ Certification
