About The Position

The System Administrator supports the day‑to‑day operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure, with a primary emphasis on enterprise printing services and multi‑function device (MFP) management. This role handles general system administration tasks while serving as the technical lead for printer deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, customer‑focused, and comfortable working across hardware, software, and network layers to ensure reliable printing services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant experience; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or other IT related field.
  • Experience supporting networked printers and multi‑function devices in an enterprise environment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and print server administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, network, and application layers.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic network diagnostics.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical users.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ or ITIL certification preferred
  • Experience with print management platforms (PaperCut, Equitrac, UniFLOW, etc.).
  • Knowledge of secure printing workflows and document management processes.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell) for automating print server tasks.
  • Exposure to M365, Exchange, or other enterprise services.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain networked printers and multi‑function devices across the organization.
  • Manage print servers, print queues, and driver deployments for Windows and macOS environments.
  • Troubleshoot printing issues involving connectivity, drivers, permissions, print spooler failures, and application‑specific print problems.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs, firmware updates, consumables, and warranty support.
  • Implement and support secure printing features, including badge authentication, PIN release, and secure scan workflows.
  • Maintain accurate device inventories, configuration records, and lifecycle documentation.
  • Provide Tier II/III support for Windows desktops, laptops, and servers.
  • Assist with Active Directory tasks such as user provisioning, group management, and GPO updates.
  • Support routine maintenance activities including patching, updates, and system hardening.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to network connectivity, authentication, and application performance.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and long‑term remediation planning.
  • Monitor printer fleet health, consumable levels, and device availability.
  • Track and report on print volumes, device utilization, and service trends.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on print servers and MFPs to reduce downtime.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date documentation for printer configurations, print server settings, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and operational standards.
  • Assist with audits and inventory reviews as needed.
