About The Position

Markon’s partner company is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator III to manage and support enterprise computer systems and network infrastructure in a secure, mission-driven environment for the Fort Meade Customer. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, security compliance experience, and the ability to support evolving enterprise architectures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience OR Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience OR High School diploma/GED and 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Degree must be in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience with Windows Systems Administration in secure enterprise environments
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining secure server infrastructure
  • Familiarity with NIST RMF, STIGs, IAVAs, and vulnerability management processes
  • Ability to obtain an IAT-I certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Linux Systems Administration
  • Experience deploying and maintaining nginx
  • Familiarity with Docker and RedHat Satellite
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, SALT, or Ansible
  • Experience with system monitoring platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience with SELinux and FIPS

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain enterprise computer systems and network infrastructure
  • Analyze technical issues and develop/implement corrective actions
  • Monitor and interpret system and network status indicators to ensure operational health
  • Translate user requests into technical diagnoses and deliver effective solutions
  • Develop migration strategies to transition users to new architectures or technologies with minimal operational impact
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or equipment for integration into Agency standard solutions
  • Maintain system security posture by addressing STIGs and IAVAs in alignment with NIST RMF requirements
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows bare metal servers and virtual machines
  • Ensure secure infrastructure operations, including vulnerability remediation, data protection, compliance, backup, and recovery
  • Maintain and update required security documentation and processes, including: System Security Plans (SSPs) STE/STN requirements via RMF Netseer and SEAR logging Patch management and IAVMs McAfee and UAM
