About The Position

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Systems Administrator to maintain an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • Active Directory Account Management.
  • Windows Server 2012/2016.
  • Windows 10 and 11 troubleshooting and OS deployment.
  • Application troubleshooting - Outlook; Excel; Word; JAVA; Internet Explorer.
  • MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) experience is a plus.
  • MS Exchange experience is a plus.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • Must possess an appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment; either valid CompTIA Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) -Security.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE Certification is the preferred certification.
  • Must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Training within six (6) months of Hire Date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
  • Troubleshoots system hardware and software issues.
  • Educates end users on the proper use of hardware and software.
  • Performs basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Conducts basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users.
  • May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies.
  • May program in administrative languages.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
