About The Position

Serve as a Systems Administrator on the 521 AMOW LOGNET team, providing expert technical support for USAF information systems, eTools (ruggedized laptops), and servers. This role includes technical administration, cybersecurity compliance using tools like the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and standards from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and enterprise-level IT support for Ramstein AB and its geographically separated units (GSUs). You will help manage Windows servers, server applications, and eTools to ensure they remain secure, compliant, and available to support the mission of aircraft sortie generation and maintenance operations across the 521 AMOW enterprise. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Systems Administrator, you will directly impact the mission of the United States Mobility Air Forces. You will join a dedicated team of skilled administrators and report to the LOGNET site lead, working collaboratively to ensure mission success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree + 3 years of relevant experience
  • Associate’s degree + 7 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience administering Microsoft Windows Servers and clients in an Air Force enterprise environment.
  • Experience with ACAS (or similar vulnerability scanners), interpreting scan results, and executing remediation.
  • Experience applying and maintaining DISA STIGs and security baselines.
  • Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of the USAF Technical Order Program and its procedures.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
  • Knowledge of Information Assurance and cybersecurity concepts within a USAF Network Environment.
  • Must meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+).
  • Active secret clearance
  • US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • An operating system certification (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server or Client) is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Server Administration Perform technical administration, configuration, and monitoring of logistics Windows application servers and SQL databases.
  • Plan, operate, and maintain backup and recovery solutions for servers, databases, and eTools in accordance with USAF and Department of War guidance.
  • Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Hardening Conduct ACAS reviews and remediation on managed systems; analyze results, execute remediation, and track vulnerabilities to maintain compliance.
  • Implement and maintain system baselines in accordance with DISA STIGs and applicable USAF secure configuration standards.
  • Support the implementation of network security policies, working with base communications squadrons and Cybersecurity Offices.
  • End User & eTools Support Provide end-user support for eTools (mobile devices, laptops, workstations) and logistics system access.
  • Manage software installation, operating system imaging, upgrades, and patching on Windows servers and clients.
  • Manage the installation and maintenance of eTools, cabinets, switches, and peripheral connections.
  • Advise on software/hardware utilization and diagnose performance issues, both on-site and at remote units.
  • Wireless LAN & Site Support Manage and execute Wireless LAN (WLAN) data gathering and reporting for logistics and sortie generation activities.
  • Conduct trips to 521 AMOW units (e.g., Spangdahlem AB, Rota NAS, Incirlik AB) for on-site installations, troubleshooting, WLAN surveys, and system validation.
  • Asset Management & Procurement Track and manage equipment designated by Air Mobility Command (AMC) in accordance with all applicable instructions and policies.
  • Manage eTool laptop cabinets, consumables, and peripherals.
  • Track procurement actions, manage acceptance documentation, and oversee warranty processes.
  • Trouble Tickets & Documentation Manage and document trouble tickets in U.S. government systems, detailing problem descriptions, actions taken, and resolutions.
  • Provide work guidance and technical consulting on complex LOGNET-related projects.
