About The Position

Equitable is looking for a Systems Analyst that will act as a Group Retirement lead architect, vetting/leading design sessions, solutions and delivery of new products, product functionality, and other enhancements within GR as directed by Group Retirement Tribe. The System Analyst will represent GR IT squad as Delivery Lead and working closely with Orchestrators/Product owners and frontline architects. In addition to the Delivery lead responsibilities, the role will require to implement innovative solutions, value adds. The System Analyst will partner with other IT squads/teams and outside vendors to develop end to end solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Informational Technology or related technical field
  • 10+ years systems analysis experience
  • 5+ years of practical experience with agile teams
  • Demonstrated aptitude in Retirement Products and/or Operations, with a strong preference towards Group Retirement knowledge
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of concept and principles of agile methodology; ability to apply appropriate agile approaches in the processes of software development and delivery.
  • Business Data Analysis: Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.
  • Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
  • Software Quality Assurance and Testing: Knowledge of software quality assurance and testing; ability to apply appropriate processes, tools, and techniques for assuring a high level of quality in computer software products and systems.
  • System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
  • Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Act as lead architect for the Group Retirement platform, ensuring that implemented code meets GR standards, was efficiently designed, tested with proper controls for production supportability
  • Perform complex system analysis and work closely with business clients to identify core business requirements and issues to create, enhance and implement software solutions.
  • Develop applications for high transaction data processing and scalability to support future modifications and growing volume of data applying technical expertise in Group Retirement platform: COBOL, VSAM, JCL, CICS, QUICKJOB, SQL, Python, C, C++, C#, UNIX/Linux; DB2, CA-7 Endevor, File-Aid, MS Office, SPUFI, and SAR among other development tools.
  • Develop detailed user stories and requirements and advocate for business clients in all phases of the complex solution development lifecycle for each of the critical stages, including: initiation, analysis, development, testing, implementation and post implementation follow up.
  • Analyze various interconnected legacy applications and understand the code changes/enhancements needed to support business, compliance or audit requirements, as well as production issues.
  • Develop Software solutions to perform data analysis and data research.
  • Develop solution for database objects & entities for reporting functionality.
  • Evaluate architectural aspects of all applications using application knowledge and product expertise.
  • Coordinate requirements analysis and translation of requirements into technical specifications with System Architects and business owners.
  • Create test data and build prototypes and proof of concepts to validate system requirements. Resolve conflicts arising due to technical deviations from the agreed user stories or requirements.
  • Analyze and identify in-scope and out of scope items for the project development and provide detail information in functional and technical specification documents.
  • Monitor code defects in Development, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production environments.
  • Review test plan and other deliverables; correct defects during system testing or user acceptance testing phase and communicate changes.
