About The Position

Whether you come from a background in computer science, information systems, systems administration, or a related technical field, you can thrive in this role. We don’t require a particular degree, but we’re looking for translatable skills and relevant expertise. We will provide you with the training and development opportunities needed to build a career here! About The Role: As a Systems Applications Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert for ensuring our data-centric and enterprise support applications run smoothly and reliably. From installation and configuration to ongoing optimization, you’ll help keep critical systems performing at their best so teams across the company can make smart, data-driven decisions. This role is highly collaborative. You’ll partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior team members as part of a supportive and growing team. Here’s a snapshot of what you’d be doing: Taking the lead on installing, configuring, patching, and maintaining critical business and data applications. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing scalability to support increasing data volumes and usage. Owning complex technical challenges from start to finish, working with vendors and internal teams to ensure reliable outcomes. Partnering with teams across the organization to understand business processes and translate needs into effective application configurations. Supporting data flow, messaging, search, and workflow platforms such as RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, NiFi, Kafka, and Camunda. Planning, organizing, and documenting complex system designs while aligning with company standards and best practices. Staying current on emerging tools and technologies and proposing solutions that improve efficiency and system performance. Pitching in wherever needed (excluding licensed tasks) to help foster a supportive and collaborative team culture. About You: You bring 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, and supporting a mix of data management, messaging, and administration tools. You have strong expertise in Linux and Windows server administration. You’re comfortable navigating tools like RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, NiFi, Kafka, Camunda, or similar technologies. You’re skilled at managing projects, balancing multiple priorities, and keeping complex work organized and on track. You think in systems and enjoy asking “why” to uncover root causes and data-informed solutions. You communicate clearly and can translate complex technical concepts into plain language for non-technical partners. You enjoy learning new technologies and staying current on trends in project management and application support. You’re energized by work that blends big-picture thinking with hands-on problem solving. You can influence and motivate others, even without formal authority, and stay optimistic when navigating challenges. You show up consistently and can be counted on to get the job done.
