About The Position

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Systems Architect supporting the Nuclear Enterprise Center (NEC) at Fort Meade for the USSTRATCOM customer under the Systems Engineering and Integration (SEI) framework. NEC partners with stakeholders across the NC3 enterprise to direct and manage NC3 enterprise operations, advocate for and synchronize the fielding of modernized systems, and to define and integrate the next generation of NC3 capabilities. The Systems Architect will join the Data and Mission Engineering Analysis team. This is a full-time opportunity at Fort Meade.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have an active TS with ability to obtain SCI
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Establishing system information requirements
  • Designing architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross‐functional requirements and interfaces.
  • Evaluating problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develops appropriate correctiveaction.

Nice To Haves

  • DODAF, TOGAF, SysML, or UAF Certification desired
  • Experience supporting USSTRATCOM weapon systems and/or capabilities desired

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with information engineers to establish system information requirements for NC3 enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.
  • Designing NC3 architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
  • Evaluating problems of workflows, organization, and planning and developing appropriate corrective action.
  • Incorporating reference models and profiles of standards into specifications for Information Management solutions.
  • Collaborating with Configuration Management team to ensure requirements are incorporated into process workflows, coordinating with the NC3 community, and presenting findings/recommendations to the System Engineering and Architecture Board.
  • Supporting the change process, reviewing Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Operational Certification Packages (OCP), and other associated artifacts so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.
  • Providing advice to the Government on continuous improvement recommendations to the SE&I Systems Engineering Rubric for evaluating the merits of new/enhanced NC3 capabilities.
