About The Position

The Systems Completion Lead is a project position in the commissioning group responsible for interacting with clients and GATE project teams to ensure that the GATE systems completion philosophy is carried out in the highest regard, as well as having full responsibility for systems completion planning, preparation, verification, and implementation of the GATE completions process on Commissioning projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Energy commissioning/ systems completion experience required
  • Engineering/technical degree or professional certification preferred
  • Proficient usage of the systems completion database computer software
  • General understanding of management of work systems and best practices procedures
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate/manage well at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage a specialist project team
  • Proven ability to manage quality, time, team, and budget on large and small projects
  • Proven ability to promote and manage client relationships
  • Develop internal training courses and materials
  • Proven ability to manage quality, time, team, and budget on discrete scopes of work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel offshore and internationally
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, ramps, and access and utilize scaffolding
  • Ability to carry a tool bag (up to 50 lbs.), bend body downward and forward, kneel, climb & walk
  • Work extended shift hours, e.g., 12+ hours/day or as dictated by project requirements
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug-screen and / or physical

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the client and the contractor’s construction team
  • Ensure smooth and seamless transition from each Systems Completion phase (MS/PC/COMM)
  • Primary focus: ensure systems are ready for commissioning
  • Provide a common platform for information distribution and company growth
  • Identify and communicate priority systems to drive MC
  • Liaison for construction and systems completion to maintain system prioritization
  • Coordinate development of final "MC/PC” check-sheets and ensure they are correctly tied and linked to database tags
  • Ensure development, population, and maintenance of the GSC database; up to date and includes current/correct data from engineering, and tags are correctly tied/linked to each system (through boundary drawings)
  • Assist commissioning leads with project engineering teams
  • Ensure engineering data is updated in accordance with revision updates of key documents, i.e., cable schedules, instrument index, line list, etc.
  • Review system boundary drawings against MC status and advise changes to effect early handover
  • Coordinate review and approval of GATE project team procedures for MC and handover activities, including client requirements to inspect, review, or witness certain aspects of measuring completion
  • Coordinate GATE project teams to ensure efficient and safe execution of MC and handover
  • Work with project teams to achieve mechanical completion of any additional parts of the facility, systems, sub-systems, and temporary facilities that may be required for commissioning and start-up
  • Interfaces with planning and construction to meet scheduled MC dates
  • Provides commissioning leads with SC progress to the GATE commissioning manager
  • Sets up, manages, and monitors the system's completion metrics [i.e., "MC/SC" check-sheet progress, plan vs. actual system handovers, outstanding punch list Items, etc.]
  • Ensure systems completion certificates are prepared, signed by appropriate supervisors/managers, and distributed as stipulated in project coordination procedures
  • Ensure correct project/deliverable documentation
  • Responsible for adhering to GATE policies and procedures in a positive manner
  • Proactively work to create a positive and professional culture within GATE
  • Other duties as assigned
