Technical Lead — Magnetic Tactile & Precision Signal Chain (PSC) The Group: The Magnetic Tactile Initiative is a cornerstone of ADI’s strategy to lead in next‑generation physical intelligence and high‑performance sensing. The team develops breakthrough magnetic tactile sensing solutions enabling advanced robotics, industrial automation, healthcare instrumentation, and emerging intelligent‑edge applications. This work is tightly coupled with the Precision Signal Chain (PSC) technology franchise—ADI’s foundational analog and mixed‑signal engine responsible for world‑class precision front‑ends, converters, signal‑conditioning architectures, and integrated sensing platforms. PSC Charter: Deliver cutting‑edge precision and integrated sensor architectures. Enable sensor‑to‑signal‑to‑insight pipelines for industrial, healthcare, scientific, and emerging markets. Advance precision + sensing co‑design across materials, transduction, packaging, and mixed‑signal innovation. Serve as the technology backbone for incubation and scaling of next‑generation sensing modalities, including magnetic tactile. The Position: ADI is seeking a P5 Technical Lead (Principal Engineer) (IC Track) to lead the end‑to‑end technical development of the Magnetic Tactile Sensing Platform and its integration into the PSC precision signal‑chain ecosystem. This role sets architectural direction, drives technology maturation, and influences cross‑functional execution across VBU, PSC, GO&T, Product/Apps Engineering, and strategic customers. Key responsibilities include: Technology Strategy & Architecture: Own the magnetic tactile technology roadmap, scaling paths, and manufacturability strategy; define architectural standards and technical direction. Hands‑On Technical Development: Lead sensor design, magnetic modeling, prototype development, and algorithmic reconstruction; drive iterative learning cycles. System Engineering Insight: Ensure end‑to‑end system performance—from magnetic field interaction to PSC analog fronts, calibration, noise budgeting, and application behavior. Characterization & Validation: Define comprehensive characterization plans (sensitivity mapping, hysteresis, drift, dynamics, environmental robustness) and drive repeatability and automation. Sampling & Derisking: Establish sample‑readiness criteria, data packages, validation protocols, and customer evaluation pathways. New Product Development Leadership: Guide product definition, technical reviews, risk analyses, and early‑silicon validation. PSC Collaboration: Co‑architect precision signal‑chain interfaces optimized for tactile sensing, including advanced ADC interfaces, front‑end conditioning, and high‑resolution reconstruction. The technologist will represent ADI’s tactile and PSC leadership in strategic customer and ecosystem engagements. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role without direct people management.
