About The Position

Seeking a strong DevOps engineer to augment the existing platform team for a large analytic cloud repository A successful candidate for this position has experience working with large Hadoop and Accumulo based clusters, a strong background in Linux OS development, and a familiarity with open-source technologies Additional knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka and CentOS or RHEL would benefit the candidate Ideal candidates would have familiarity with open-source products and be willing/able to learn new technologies The platform team builds subject matter expertise in a variety of open-source products

Requirements

Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
17+ years as a Systems Engineer on projects of similar scope, type, and complexity
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
An additional 5 years of SE experience may be substituted for the degree
DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher required

Nice To Haves

Experience administering Kubernetes cluster
Experience tuning and managing Kafka
Experience installing and managing tracing frameworks like Jaeger
Experience with:
HELM charts
ARGOCD
Ansible
Grafana
Prometheus
Loki
Thanos
Apache Hadoop /HDFS
Python/Go/Java (in that order of preference)
Linux operating system monitoring and tuning
Committer/contributor to open-source application
Agile development experience

Responsibilities

Support the design, automation, deployment, and sustainment of software and infrastructure systems through modern DevSecOps practices
Bridge development and operations teams to improve system reliability, scalability, security, and delivery speed using CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and continuous monitoring
