About The Position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. Blue Origin is seeking a Level 3 Systems Engineer (Analysis) to join our Lunar Permanence team. In this role, you will apply analytical methods to systems engineering challenges, performing quantitative assessments that inform design decisions across the program. You will conduct trade studies, develop performance models, analyze system behaviors, and validate requirements through engineering analysis. Your analytical expertise will contribute directly to optimizing the performance, reliability, and compatibility of systems supporting sustained lunar presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • 4-7 years of experience in engineering roles with emphasis on analytical work
  • Demonstrated experience applying quantitative methods to systems engineering problems
  • Proficiency with analytical tools and programming languages (MATLAB, Python, or equivalent)
  • Experience with system modeling, simulation, or performance analysis
  • Ability to translate complex analytical results into actionable engineering recommendations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aerospace systems analysis (trajectory, GN&C, thermal, structural, or related)
  • Understanding of statistics and uncertainty quantification
  • Experience with trade study methodology and design optimization
  • Familiarity with lunar mission concepts or deep space systems
  • Experience integrating analyses across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Knowledge of NASA analysis standards and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to balance analytical rigor with practical engineering solutions

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative systems engineering analyses across Lunar Permanence program elements
  • Develop and maintain performance models and simulations to predict system behavior
  • Support trade studies using analytical methods to evaluate design alternatives
  • Analyze interface requirements and verify compatibility through quantitative assessment
  • Develop and track technical budgets (mass, power, data, etc.) using analytical approaches
  • Identify system-level risks through analysis and support development of mitigation strategies
  • Create clear, well-documented analytical products that communicate technical findings effectively
  • Support requirements development and verification through quantitative analysis
  • Participate in technical reviews to present analytical results and recommendations
  • Collaborate with subsystem teams to integrate analytical methods into the systems engineering process

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
  • Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
  • Dependent on role type and job level, employees may be eligible for benefits and bonuses based on the company's intent to reward individual contributions and enable them to share in the company's results, or other factors at the company's sole discretion.
