About The Position

We are Lockheed Martin You will be the Systems Engineer Associate Manager for the Hardware Development team which is responsible for delivering integrated hardware and software solutions for advanced aerospace programs. What You Will Be Doing As the Systems Engineer Associate Manager you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team that designs, develops, and validates embedded systems, SoCs, and FPGA‑based solutions for the F‑35, F‑16, and Skunk Works mission sets. You will drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery within Agile development cycles. Your responsibilities will include: Guiding the team through all phases of software development, from requirements to verification. Supporting team creating architecture designs, logic designs, and system simulations for complex embedded platforms. Leading Skunk Works research and development efforts and translating breakthroughs into production‑ready solutions. Performing simulation and analysis of FPGA and embedded system designs to meet performance and reliability targets. Who You Are You are an experienced systems engineer with a strong background in both hardware and software for embedded platforms. Requirements

  • Team leadership or Technical leadership experience
  • Experience in an Agile Software Development Environment
  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited college in Systems Engineering or other Science or bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline
  • 3+ years of requirements management
  • Experience with test design, traceability, & verification
  • Experience with system decomposition (using DoDAF, MBSE or similar approach)
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Agile tools e.g. Gitlab, Jira, Confluence and Continuous Integration environments.
  • Experience with complex electronics and embedded systems, such as Field-Programmable Gate Array and hardware development.
  • Background in Safety Critical and/or Mission Systems
  • Background in Secure Computing Systems
  • 2+ years as L-Coded Manager or Technical Lead
  • Strong mentoring skills and experience leading groups.
  • Strong technical communication skills (experience communicating technical designs to non-technical customers and communicating customer desires to technical team).
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx Field-Programmable Gate Array's & Toolsets
  • Experience with LM Security Certification Processes
  • Comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Ability to adapt well to change, as the working environment has evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.
  • Experience with project planning, execution, trancking and management
  • Bachelor's from an accredited college in Electrical or Computer Engineering or bachelor's degree from an accredited college
