What does a Systems Engineer - Mid Level do? Mission Intelligence Group is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer who will leverage a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to requirements and solutions engineering, systems integration, and reliability assessments. This pivotal role supports mission-critical initiatives across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and federal agencies, ensuring the delivery of timely and high-quality GEOINT capabilities. Key responsibilities include executing requirements engineering, leading planning activities, and developing solution designs informed by emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will mentor junior engineers while assisting government stakeholders in translating mission objectives into clear system requirements. You will contribute to systems integration efforts, participate in Analyses of Alternatives, and support strategic technical planning and project management. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or 6 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in lieu of degree.
  • 6+ years of working experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex engineering challenges effectively.
  • A deep understanding of systems engineering principles, along with a knack for requirements analysis and traceability, is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills are vital, enabling you to articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and collaborate seamlessly with team members and stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to mentoring junior engineers will be key, as will the ability to adapt to emerging technologies and rapidly changing project requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages.
  • Working knowledge of Software Development Frameworks.
  • INCOSE Associate System Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification.
  • Documented work experience in the field of geospatial intelligence.
  • Membership or active participation in any of the following professional organizations: ACSM ASCE ASPRS OGC SAREM USGIF
  • Working knowledge of photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems, geomatics, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.
