Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Engineer Summer 2026 Intern. In this role, you will - Modeling and analysis of physical systems in support of requirements validation, performance predictions, and verification activities - Problem solving complicated analytical assignments - Collaboration with various partners within and beyond your immediate group (Test, Quality, Production, etc.) The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of Currently enrolled in Engineering program from an accredited university. Understanding of mechanical, aerospace, and/or systems engineering principals. Word, PowerPoint, & Excel computer skills. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s (or higher) program in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
  • US citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance.
  • Familiarity with mechanical/aerospace/systems engineering principles
  • Basic knowledge of data‑analysis tools (Excel, MATLAB, Python, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, highly integrated team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of tasks and a drive to close them efficiently.
  • Basic CAD modeling experience (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar).
  • Interest in statistical analysis, reliability engineering, or systems integration.
