Systems Integration Engineer – SME Telecommunications Team | Bethesda, MD In this role, you’ll serve as a technical leader driving the successful delivery of complex network infrastructure and software initiatives that support the nation’s airspace. What You’ll Do Lead end-to-end program execution: Define, plan, and manage the full lifecycle of network infrastructure and software projects, from concept through deployment. Drive cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate with RAN, hardware, software, and systems integration teams—plus external vendors—to deliver on schedule and at scale. Own technical risk management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, particularly in network deployments. Translate strategy into action: Align technical deliverables with broader business objectives, operational priorities, and long-term timelines. Communicate with impact: Provide clear, actionable status updates, dashboards, and briefings to stakeholders and senior leadership. Requirements

  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems is required. (Note: A Master’s degree or 15+ years of relevant STEM experience may be considered for specialized roles)
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure planning.
  • 5+ years leading complex, cross-functional projects, including large-scale or multi-million-dollar initiatives.
  • Strong command of core networking protocols, including BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6.
  • Experience with optical networking, data center environments, and server-level hardware deployments.
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proven ability to model network growth, optimize capacity, and align technical decisions with budget constraints.
