Leidos’ Defense Systems / Manufacturing is seeking a talented Systems Integration Engineer to join our Persistent Surveillance team at our PIF location in Huntsville, AL. You will be supporting the Persistent Surveillance portfolio and will work along a group of test engineers (electrical/mechanical) and test technicians, performing acceptance and qualification testing of launcher platforms. Requirements

  • BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. In Lieu of a degree a High School Diploma/GED with 7 plus years of relevant experience in assembly, integration, and/or acceptance testing.
  • Candidate must, have good interpersonal skills, and have the desire to work in a highly focused technical team, be capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Candidate must be able to work from production drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Candidate must possess advanced skills using hand tools, electrical troubleshooting (high and low voltage), and mechanical operations.
  • MS Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Candidate must be able to work independently, or as part of a team, in a dedicated workforce.
  • Candidate must be able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes
  • Candidate must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and must possess and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in acceptance testing including electrical devices, mechanical functions, software integration, and RF measurements.
  • An associate degree or higher in a relevant electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing field.
  • Familiarity with working with electrical schematics and cable/wiring diagrams.
  • Advanced experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Organizational skills to document test procedures, test reports and support configuration management of the test equipment.
  • Torque and/or Safety Wire.
  • Experience in the functional testing of electronic components.
  • Material handling equipment: forklifts and/or overhead cranes

Responsibilities

  • Support OCONUS Field Service Representatives (FSRs) with troubleshooting, maintenance and site issues.
  • Direct and track maintenance of fielded systems, working with FSRs to address any related issues.
  • Review and edit FSR SITREP data for weekly customer meetings.
  • Track and update System Problem Report data to ensure they are being addresses and processed in a timely manner.
  • Candidate will also handle all tasks assigned by the supervisor and may aid in writing reports/CDRLs and updating records.
  • Candidate will be part of a diverse team whose work will include setting up test equipment, performing functional testing of radar hardware, confirming software functionality, setting up dynamic/climatic test environments, and subsystem AI&T.
  • Assists in performing experiments for failure analysis and root cause analysis
  • Troubleshooting electronic assemblies down to the component level to support product reliability and repair
  • Perform checkout and integration of LRUs into radar systems
  • Assist and/or conduct integration of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic subsystems.
  • Recommends additional equipment needs to leadership and/or Test Engineers for the product debug areas
  • Work will be conducted in a manufacturing environment and outdoor environments.
