About The Position

We seek a Talent Acquisition & Human Resources Specialist who prioritizes quality over quantity in candidate recruitment and HR practices. This role identifies and attracts top-tier talent while ensuring a strong cultural and organizational fit. Beyond recruitment, the position will support key HR functions, including onboarding, employee engagement, and compliance. The ideal candidate is strategic, detail-oriented, and committed to building a high-performing workforce through thoughtful and intentional hiring rather than high-volume recruitment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in talent acquisition, HR, and recruitment, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Experience must be in an internal HR role, recruiting directly for the company’s workforce, not as a third-party recruiter or staffing agency representative.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting software (Workable, Greenhouse, or similar).
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt to recruitment challenges
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Willingness to work overtime and under pressure when necessary.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software (Workable, ADP, or similar).
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and sourcing tools.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) for HR reporting and documentation.
  • Knowledge of social media recruiting strategies for talent sourcing.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies to find the right talent, not just fill positions quickly.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring each hire aligns with company values, culture, and long-term goals.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to deeply understand workforce needs and ensure a rigorous, quality-driven hiring process.
  • Utilize a selective and strategic approach to sourcing, interviewing, and evaluating candidates.
  • Leverage multiple recruitment channels (job boards, social media, networking, referrals) while focusing on candidate quality and potential.
  • Provide a high-touch candidate experience, ensuring a seamless and professional hiring journey.
  • Maintain and refine the applicant tracking system (ATS) to track high-caliber candidates for future hiring needs.
  • Use industry salary data and benchmarking to ensure competitive job offers and align with experience levels.
  • Assist in onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Maintained employee records, HR documentation, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Support performance management, including employee evaluations and career development discussions.
  • Assist with employee benefits administration, including annual renewals and research into additional benefit offerings.
  • Help develop and update the employee handbook, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other HR policies.
  • Support general office duties and coordinate travel arrangements for team members as needed.
  • Provide proactive solutions to enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Monitor employee performance and conduct regular assessments to identify strengths, address challenges, and support career growth.
  • Review company policies for clarity, consistency, and compliance, and proactively recommend updates to leadership that align with evolving organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
