About The Position

Talent Development & Learning Lead Founded in 1997, Think Together partners with schools to change the odds for kids by providing award-winning programs during and outside the school day. We’re one of California’s largest nonprofits working in school districts from San Diego to San Francisco. JOB SUMMARY: As a strategic individual contributor and core member of the Organizational Development and Learning & Development Department, you’ll partner with department leaders to oversee and manage a variety of learning and development programs, initiatives, and projects that foster talent development and support organizational effectiveness. The work includes the following focus areas – overseeing the ongoing management and execution of all talent development programs and offerings led by our Talent Development & Learning team. Ensuring that all programs and offerings are in alignment with our standards for professional development and facilitation in the organization. Continually approaching the work through a continuous improvement lens to ensure high quality standards and responsiveness to ever evolving needs and shifts within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, organizational development, industrial psychology, human resources, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience facilitating training, including off-the-shelf curriculum, and supporting talent management initiatives
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience managing direct reports, providing guidance, direction, and leadership to others
  • Knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theories, and principles of management and organizational behavior
  • Proven record of implementing successful initiatives in professional development, organizational development, project management, employee experience, and/or organizational culture
  • Exceptional project management skills and familiarity with phases of project lifecycles
  • Data-driven approach diagnosing business problems, understanding insights, and designing impactful solutions
  • Intermediate level experience with Project Management Software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Adobe
  • File Management (One Drive, Box, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Email, internet, website and social media platforms
  • Use of typical office equipment
  • Reliable transportation is required to meet the needs of the position.
  • While driving is not a regular requirement of this role, employees who operate a personal or company vehicle for work purposes must maintain a valid driver's license and current auto insurance on file with HR.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and scale current Talent Development programs & initiatives, including conference engagement & capability frameworks.
  • Develop and implement new Talent Development programs including, but not limited to, career pathways, skills taxonomy & assessments, org-wide development catalog & core enterprise skill programs, including certificates/credentials.
  • Manage and develop a team of facilitators in their work to support Talent Development programs.
  • Establish, maintain and improve processes and operations that support a broad range of programs and offerings for Talent Development.
  • Collaborate with fellow subject matter experts to analyze the effectiveness of our programs and offerings using data and processes.
  • Lift and support recommendations rooted in evidenced-driven decision making for the continuous improvement of Talent Development programs and offerings.
  • Establish key relationships across the organization to understand business priorities and the talent development implications of strategies to meet ongoing and future needs.
  • Commitment to equity, excellence, and improving the odds for kids; supporting the needs of students from underrepresented populations.
  • Facilitate professional development of direct reports by targeting the content and delivery to meet required knowledge and skill levels.
  • Adapt training materials, tools, and resources that reinforce and sustain learning and application.
  • Help identify, develop, and implement career pathing and competency-based career development tools to enhance professional development.
