About The Position

The Talent Specialist will play an important role within the HR team, identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent across the organization. This position will lead full-cycle recruiting for a broad range of roles, including hourly and salaried field positions, project management, preconstruction, safety, and support functions (IT, Accounting, Marketing, HR, etc). This role will support the entire company by partnering closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, develop effective sourcing strategies, and deliver a strong, consistent candidate experience. Success in this position requires strong organization, confident communication (English and Spanish), and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of recruiting experience preferred
  • 3+ years in construction at a general contractor preferred
  • Experience with BambooHR is preferred
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both languages, verbally and in writing.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and compliance related to hiring practices (EEO, fair hiring, documentation, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing (phone and in-person), and offer coordination.
  • Ability to recruit for hourly and salaried roles across field operations and office/support functions.
  • Strong interviewing and candidate evaluation skills, with the ability to assess qualifications, experience, and overall fit.
  • Proficient using an ATS and recruiting tools (experience with BambooHR and LinkedIn Talent Specialist preferred).
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple open roles at once.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for a wide range of roles, including hourly and salaried field and office positions.
  • Lead intake meetings with hiring managers to understand role requirements, team dynamics, and hiring timelines.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for open positions to attract qualified candidates using direct outreach, online tools, and other proactive recruiting methods.
  • Review resumes and conduct phone screens and in-person interviews to evaluate skills, experience, and overall fit.
  • Coordinate interviews and keep candidates and hiring managers informed throughout the process.
  • Participate in workforce planning meetings and proactively communicate anticipated hires, timing, and needs to the HR team to ensure smooth pre-employment and onboarding coordination.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for ongoing and future hiring needs.
  • Partner with the HR Manager to manage job postings, applications, and candidate data in BambooHR, ensuring consistent documentation, audit readiness, and compliance with employment laws and record retention guidelines.
  • Partner with HR and hiring managers to ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance through onboarding, including First Week Schedule and 30/60/90 Day Plans.
  • Assist HR Manager in overseeing external recruiting agency contracts ensuring consistency, cost effectiveness and only using when necessary and aligned with the company hiring strategy.
  • Partner with leadership to maintain relationships with external recruiting agencies that support JHL’s hiring strategy.
  • Partner with the Director of Culture and support campus and early-career recruiting efforts, including planning and participating in college career fairs, internship and entry-level hiring initiatives, and maintaining relationships with universities such as Colorado School of Mines, CSU, and other programs.
