About The Position

Tax Associate: The Tax Associate position is an entry-level public accounting job. In this position, there is direct supervision, guidance and review by higher level accountants who provide instruction, assign work, and review performance through conferences and work reviews for effectiveness, quality, accuracy and conformance to procedures, laws, rules, and regulations. This position exercises minimal independent judgment and works toward independent work efforts.

Requirements

• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

• Work on client matters as assigned by the Firm including preparing simple tax returns and financial statements and working on sections of complex accounting engagements.
• Synthesizes complex and diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations
• Treat colleagues and clients with respect and interact positively and professionally when representing the Firm.
• Take initiative to assist others in completing assignments whenever possible.
• Participate in Firm non-chargeable endeavors, as requested.
• Be aware of and communicate to leadership all potential opportunities for new clients and additional services for existing clients.
• Promote the Firm with our clients, business associates and through civic activities.
