Role Crown Castle’s Tax Department supports the company’s U.S. tower operations. The summer intern will assist with basic tax compliance, research, and analysis of federal, state, and local tax matters. This role will offer exposure to various areas within the tax function, which may include sales and use tax, compliance, income and franchise tax, property tax, and business licensing.
Requirements
- Proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office
- Exceptional organization/administrative skills and work ethic
- Interest and ability in learning and applying new tools and skills in a timely manner
- Ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication between teammates and mangers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present complex information in a clear and simple format

- Currently enrolled as a student in a degree program from an accredited higher education institution
- Applicants must have completed at least 60 credit hours by the first day of the internship
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) from June 1 to August 6, 2026
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship

Responsibilities
- Assist teammates in accumulating/manipulating/analyzing data via excel and pivots
- Assist with exemption certificate management and vendor requests
- Maintenance of tax jurisdiction codes
- Assist with review of tax returns
- Help gather documentation for audits
- Utilize OneSource tax preparation software to assist with preparing returns, extensions, estimated payments, etc.
- Assist the property tax payment process on paying property taxes to various authorities and landlords
- Assist with business license compliance to insure timely filing and payment
