About The Position

Challenge to Excellence Charter School, a high performing, premiere STEAM school in Douglas County, is looking for a full-time 1st Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Challenge to Excellence is an academically advanced charter that specializes in STEAM education. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the mission and vision of the school through: ● Designing and implementing standards-aligned curriculum ● Planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. ● Differentiating lessons for students with learning plans. ● Integrating the use of technology to provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. ● Observing, evaluating, encouraging, and providing feedback on students’ progress and development in the coursework. ● Implementing data-driven instruction. ● Managing student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintaining discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary system of the school, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary. ● Performing certain duties including, but not limited to, participating in team, school, and parent meetings.

Requirements

  • Colorado Initial or Professional Colorado Teaching License or the equivalent with READ designation
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years or more teaching experience, preferably in Elementary School
  • Experience with Infinite Campus and Google products.
