Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center - The Patriot Support Program, is an intensive inpatient residential treatment program that utilizes social/emotional therapy and trauma-informed care to serve adolescents (ages 11 to 17) of deployed and active-duty military families. The program builds upon the resiliency skills used to overcome challenges in their personal lives. Palm Shores is currently hiring a Florida certified teacher for our new classroom to support the children of military families. This classroom will focus regular academics including the learning gaps due to variation in curricula and standards as students move from one military location to the next. Our ideal candidate will have a military background and be a Florida certified teacher (grades 6-12) in the core subject areas (Math, Science, ELA, Social Studies) and ability to obtain the ESE certification. A student to direct care staff ratio is maintained throughout the school day for behavior support in the classroom with additional support from on-site psychiatrists, nursing staff, a board-certified behavior analyst, and therapists. We follow required state and county rules and regulations for a Hospital/Homebound site. Teachers are employees of the facility and not under a teacher contract/re-negotiation.
