Job SummaryThe Teacher at St. Francis Borgia Grade School is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and faith formation in a Catholic school setting. Rooted in the Catholic Church's mission, the Teacher fosters academic growth, spiritual development, and a love of learning in a supportive, faith-filled environment. The Teacher works collaboratively with school administration, colleagues, families, and students to support the holistic development of each learner and the mission of St. Francis Borgia Grade School.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge of instructional best practices, assessment, and classroom management
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
  • Practicing Catholic preferred, in accordance with school/parish policy and position requirements

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with school curriculum and Archdiocesan Standards
  • Integrate Catholic teaching, values, and traditions into daily instruction and classroom culture
  • Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-centered learning environment
  • Use effective classroom management practices consistent with Gospel values and school expectations
  • Assess student learning using a variety of measures; maintain accurate grades, records, and documentation
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress, needs, and expectations
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student success and school-wide initiatives
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and required trainings
  • Support school liturgies, prayer, service opportunities, and other school/parish events as requested
  • Carry out supervision and other duties as assigned (e.g., recess, hallway, arrival/dismissal, lunch duty)
