About The Position

The Department of Management in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for a Teaching Assistant Professor faculty position with a specialization in organizational behavior or human resources management. The expected start date is August 10, 2026. This is a non-tenure track position that offers an opportunity to teach both traditional and on-line classes in the Department of Management. This Teaching Assistant Professor position has a four-course teaching requirement each semester (12 credit hours per semester), teaching undergraduate courses in organizational behavior and human resource management, and may be asked to teach master’s level courses in the future. The Walton College requires service to the profession, university, and department at a level consistent with faculty rank. We also expect faculty to actively engage in department, college, and university activities at a level consistent with the AACSB designation of a participating faculty member. This is an in-person position. Most University classes are offered face-to-face, and this role requires regular on-campus presence to support high-quality instruction and student learning. Participation in selected departmental or programmatic activities that advance teaching quality and student success is also expected, consistent with responsibilities of non-tenure track faculty as defined by the academic department. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. (or expect to complete their Ph.D. before the start date) in management or a related discipline (e.g., industrial/organizational psychology) from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited university
  • Qualified as a Scholarly Academic or Practice Academic under AACSB standards (this could include recent publications in peer reviewed journals and/or engagement in professional practice through outreach, consulting, or other activities consistent with AACSB standards)
  • Interest or experience in teaching organizational behavior and human resource management related classes
  • Engagement with the discipline, as indicated by regular attendance at academic conferences or workshops of nationally (or internationally) recognized professional associations (e.g., AOM, SIOP, SMS, SMA, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Management, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, or I/O Psychology
  • Strong documented record of excellence and innovation in teaching undergraduate and/or master’s level organizational behavior and/or human resource management related classes using face-to-face and online course delivery methods
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an excellent learning environment in the classroom
  • Demonstrated active engagement with on-campus environment and participation in on-campus activities
