About The Position

This position is available in the Clinical Practice, Innovation, and Research Division of the School of Pharmacy at UW-Madison. The successful candidate will support the Pharmacy in the Health Care System, Social & Behavioral Aspects of Pharmacy Practice, and Integrated Pharmacotherapy Skills Lab teaching in Fall and Spring semesters. This position also has teaching responsibilities in the Rural Health elective courses and specific topics related to pulmonary therapeutics and communications skills. This position also supports developing clinical pharmacy services in a community practice setting.

Requirements

  • Required completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency.
  • PharmD required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred completion of PGY2 pharmacy residency.
  • Preferred at least 2 years prior teaching and mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the day to day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
  • Assists in developing techniques and/or model programs for carrying out instructional goals in disciplinary area and may help identify ways in which new techniques could be of assistance
  • Assists in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties
  • Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
  • Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy
  • Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
