About The Position

TD Securities offers a wide range of capital markets products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients globally. The firm operates across major financial centers including Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, New York, London, Singapore, and Tokyo. Global Operations and Business Services provides the critical infrastructure supporting TD Securities’ trading, investment, and corporate banking activities. The organization partners closely with front office, risk, and technology teams to ensure efficient execution across the trade lifecycle while maintaining a strong operational risk and control environment. The Fixed Income Operations team supports settlement processing, risk mitigation, and operational control functions across a broad range of fixed income products. The team plays a key role in supporting the growth of the capital markets business by delivering operational excellence and ensuring accurate and timely trade settlement. The Manager – Fixed Income Settlements is responsible for leading a team supporting the settlement of fixed income securities across multiple products and legal entities. This role provides leadership and oversight of daily settlement operations while ensuring a strong risk and control framework is maintained. The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of 5–10 settlement professionals, providing oversight of daily operational workflows, risk management, and operational performance. This individual will partner closely with front office trading desks, technology teams, and other operational groups to ensure operational efficiency, strong client service, and effective exception management across the trade lifecycle. This role provides an opportunity to influence operational strategy supporting a large and growing Fixed Income franchise. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening front-to-back operational alignment, enhancing settlement efficiency, and ensuring a strong risk and control framework across the trade lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience in Capital Markets Operations, preferably within Fixed Income Settlements.
  • Demonstrated people leadership or team supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of the fixed income trade lifecycle and settlement processes.
  • Experience with Impact/Broadridge settlement platform.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivots and data analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Strong risk and control mindset, with focus on operational integrity and process discipline.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of settlement professionals responsible for fixed income settlement processing.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight to ensure workflows are completed accurately and within established service levels.
  • Manage team performance, including goal setting, feedback, and professional development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily settlement activity across multiple fixed income products, including FED settlement processing.
  • Ensure accurate processing from trade date through settlement, including trade matching, exception management, fail resolution, and buy-in management.
  • Monitor operational metrics and service levels to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Escalate and resolve operational issues that may impact settlement activity or client service.
  • Own the end-to-end settlement control environment, including oversight of trade lifecycle risks, exception management, and operational governance.
  • Ensure adherence to internal risk management policies, regulatory requirements, and operational control frameworks.
  • Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Support internal audit reviews, regulatory inquiries, and compliance initiatives.
  • Act as a key operational partner to front office trading desks, technology teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships across Global Operations teams including reference data, onboarding, payments, and change delivery groups.
  • Provide operational insights and guidance to support business initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and automation within settlement processes.
  • Support system enhancements, new product initiatives, and operational transformation efforts.
  • Partner closely with trading desks, risk, and technology teams to support platform growth and operational scalability.
