About The Position

This position supports the department supervisor by working with employees to ensure schedule adherence, accurate data reporting and maintenance and training of a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • 1 year: Experience in a role where duties included training others or in a leadership capacity. Must have a positive and solid work record, including being someone who sets an example of appropriate employee behaviors.
  • 5 years: Experience inspecting medium to technical product. First-hand knowledge inspecting of Dexter product preferred.
  • Experience performing AS9102

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety with the team. Facilitate 5S program and conduct regular safety and environmental audits. Document UACTs, accidents, etc. and train new hire and all employees on safe work practices. Working with supervisor, develop and implement safety related corrective actions with a high sense of urgency. Lead stretch and flex program daily.
  • Treat people according to our Company values – specifically with trust and respect.
  • Using schedules provided by the Planning & Scheduling Team, hot job expedites and input from the supervisor and trainers; assign jobs to employees according to the department training matrix in order to meet and exceed schedule adherence. Monitor scheduled work by reviewing hour by hour charts and when there is a gap in performance or delay to the schedule, discuss with the supervisor to receive direction on how to proceed (putting more people on job, getting more training, rerouting the job, getting engineers involved, etc.).
  • Support the team by conducting investigations of missing jobs. Work with other leads to find product within cross-functional operations.
  • Assist or stand in during GEMBA walks or team meetings when the supervisor is not available. Know how to collect, report and problem-solve data shared to external meeting participants.
  • Conduct investigations and complete detailed reports and/or transactions in Epicor for scrap, NCRs, jobs on hold or missing parts. Share data with Supervisor to keep them informed, making sure accurate data is reported back to employees so they can learn from errors or corrective actions taken.
  • Record (only) attendance daily.
  • Assist in the non-capital equipment process, including recommendations to buy items that fit into the continuous improvement programs. Purchases must be approved by the department supervisor.
  • Provide feedback to the supervisor on issues happening on the floor (training needs or gaps, scheduling conflicts, performance data including policy and process adherence).
  • Assist by completing job operations when necessary or assigned by the supervisor.
  • Verify that only calibrated measuring instruments are in use in production and inspection areas.
  • Quarantine measuring equipment that has an expired calibration label and work with the Supervisor and the quality department to provide pertinent information regarding risk of product impact and participate in the related product impact investigations as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
