About The Position

Producing high-quality products for our customers and consumers to enjoy starts with immaculate facilities. As a member of Johnsonville’s sanitation team, you’ll ensure all our facilities are cleaned in accordance with strict procedures to meet or exceed our high sanitation and food-safety standards. Working with chemicals, hoses, lifts and other equipment, you’ll ensure our facilities are ready for the next shift of production.Position OverviewPay Range: $29.83 - $35.76 per hour, plus $2.00 shift premium.Hours: 9:00pm – 5:30am (end time varies depending on production needs). Overtime expected including weekend hours as needed. The Team Leader will perform as a proactive, “change agent” in the facility and provide support and direction to Members of the team.  The Team Leader will be expected to lead, motivate, and facilitate learning for Members to achieve productivity results, improve individual skills, and enhance teamwork. They will ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation requirements, function as a technical and business resource in areas of system operations, and work towards continuous improvements within the department and facility. They will also lead actions for assigned duties and establish and sustain effective relationships with all Members in order to foster an environment where innovation, cooperation and ownership are used to solve problems.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree is required for outside candidates.
  • Internal candidates who do not have a high school diploma or advanced degree may be considered
  • Two years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, highly preferred
  • Basic Sanitation experience preferred
  • Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's)
  • Must be able to identify Critical Control Points (CCPs) in area of responsibility and maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently
  • Strong ability to make decisions with limited resources
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Be a role model to all Members
  • Must be dependable, honest and proactive
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong math background is required
  • Comply with GMPs and safety rules at all times
  • Must be able to become certified in chemical usage
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • External Candidates Only: Ability to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical and background check
  • Ability to work at heights that are above ground level
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up 50 lbs, and hand grip up to 60 lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to work in cold and wet conditions
  • Ability to hold a hose for an extended period of time

Responsibilities

  • Coach, lead and develop a team of Members to consistently deliver great performance
  • Lead, develop and initiate process improvement efforts
  • Be able to conduct and lead effective pre-shift meetings
  • Monitor and ensure timely completion of master sanitation schedule
  • Ensure sanitation and food safety specifications are met. Train and coach Members on those processes. Be responsible for the performance, productivity and efficient utilization of resources
  • Ensure appropriate coaches/members are kept informed of problems/issues that may affect their process
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all departments and members
  • Manage the execution of the 7 steps of sanitation, meet Johnsonville’s and USDA’s standards of acceptability
  • Conduct environmental and bioluminescence swabbing
  • Must be able to complete sanitation documentation paperwork accurately
  • Proper set up and teardown knowledge of equipment within Finished Goods/Harvest
  • In depth knowledge of equipment functions and the ability to assist in troubleshooting
  • Identify and resolve potential problems and niche points
  • Ability to create and implement new processes and procedures
