Tech Aide - Radiology - Full Time - Days
About The Position
Under the direction of the Supervisor, performs those duties involved with a variety of operational and technical procedures. These duties include operating the darkroom area, assisting technologists with assorted duties, receives visitors and patients, answers incoming calls, obtains orders from hospital computer and refers exams to technologists, logs procedures on daily log sheet, transports patients to and from assigned areas. Performs those duties not requiring constant supervision or technical detail. Assumes responsibility for designated procedures with ingenuity and initiative as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Files and charts medical reports and related material.
- Assigns the proper patient consent form, if an injectable study is to be performed.
- Assists in locating patient files.
- Transports patients to and from the Imaging Department
- Assists Imaging Services personnel by performing a variety of duties for patients and certain heavy duties in the care of the physically or mentally handicapped.
- Helps maintain the equipment and assists in cleaning the dept. except for those duties pertaining to Environmental Service.
- Maintain record keeping and filing system according to department policy.
- Delivers radiographs to radiologists or physicians and retrieves them when appropriate.
