Tech III, Rigging - Universal Epic Universe
About The Position
JOB SUMMARY: Provides the highly skilled, discipline specific technical skills needed for the successful operation, installation, and maintenance of the Rigging and Staging elements for assigned Entertainment venues, projects, events, and productions, to ensure highest levels of show quality and a positive guest experience. Responsible for following all policies and procedures, including high-risk, for assigned area and team, as defined by ANSI, ESTA, and Universal Orlando, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Will act as a ground rigger while assisting with installation / strike of the rigging and staging equipment within the assigned venue, project, or event. Assists with the preparation, loading, unloading and transportation of rigging and staging gear and other equipment and materials. Assisting with the use and operation of the rigging and staging equipment within the assigned venue, project, or event. Responsible for the appropriate maintenance of rigging and staging equipment under the supervision of the Lead Tech 1. Operates large vehicles and heavy equipment. Acts as a spotter and provides correct hand signals for vehicles to protect UO’s assets. Assists in inspecting department’s equipment inventory. Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 0-2 years’ experience within the assigned technical discipline.
- A Valid Florida Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles.
- UO (Universal Orlando) provided annual training is required for heavy equipment operation.
- Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity (Rigging and Staging); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- As directed, may assist in technical training and implementation of all training materials.
- Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing Team Members.
- Technical school is preferred.
